How we create culture
Co-creation, volunteering and cultural entrepreneurship
HUSET is a cultural platform or framework where creative associations, volunteers and cultural entrepreneurs are given space to create their own cultural activities in collaboration with HUSET's facilitating staff.
All of HUSET's activities are developed wholly or partly through co-creation with creative cultural entrepreneurs, volunteers and alternative cultural environments.
What is co-creation at HUSET?
For us, co-creation means that we provide space for the many cultural environments to unfold their potential within the framework of HUSET.
We do this because we know that we do not have all the good ideas in Copenhagen. Cultural life is constantly changing, and new ideas and art forms are constantly emerging. We want to actively embrace this movement by seeking out and developing new collaborations.
In addition, cultural life in many places is characterised by established committees, secretariats and bookers having the power to put those they perceive as high quality on stage. But quality is not universal, and we want to be part of a movement to democratise cultural life and make it accessible to groups that have previously been excluded.
The HUSET team has many years of experience in cultural production, which can benefit completely new and untested actors. We provide technical production assistance, make professional facilities available, and support PR and communication.
Co-creation is about developing the cultural growth layer in the broadest sense, both on and behind the stage.
