CopenOpen Poetry Slam

CopenOpen is an open poetry slam that you can attend as a guest or slammer every third Friday of the month. It costs DKK 50 to see the performers, and tickets can be purchased at the door.

If you want to participate as a slammer, please note the following:

• You can ONLY register for the next poetry slam. You do this by sending a private message to CopenOpen on our Facebook page from the 1st of each month. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  The rules for the slam are:
• Ten slammers in the first round and six in the second round. Points from the two rounds are added together, and the three with the most points go to the final, where the points are reset.
• You must have written your own text.
• You may not use costumes, props, or musical instruments.
• The audience awards points between 0 and 10. The slammers may not know the judges.
• If you perform for more than 3 minutes and 10 seconds, you will be given a time penalty: ½ point for every 10 seconds or part thereof.
• Freestylers get an extra minute to collect words from the audience (this must be reported to the host before the show starts).
• All participants get two beer tickets.
• The order is drawn by lot before the show starts. Therefore, slammers must be present 15 minutes before the show starts.

And remember - the point is not the points, the point is the poetry.
