First Strike

To mark the 30th anniversary of First Strike, we invite you to a special screening of Jackie Chan's energetic action classic from 1996, directed by Stanley Tong.

The film follows Hong Kong police officer Chan Ka-Kui, who teams up with Interpol to track down an international arms dealer. Gradually, he realizes that the task is far more complex than first assumed and that he has become a pawn in a larger power game with connections to an organization posing as Russian intelligence.

First Strike is known for its spectacular stunts, precise fight sequences, and Jackie Chan's characteristic blend of action and humor. The film is a central part of the Police Story series and is today considered a highlight of 1990s Asian action cinema.

The screening is part of our monthly Asian Cinema series and will be presented in the original language with English subtitles.
