Kunst på farten - art exhibition

On one of Copenhagen’s busiest bus routes, passengers will be able to experience the works of the five winners of the Open Call competition during this year’s Art Matter Festival 2026. From May 27 to June 7, each bus on line 2A will feature one of the five selected works, which passengers can view along the route, which runs from Tingbjerg through the city center, across Rådhuspladsen and Christianshavn to Refshaleøen.

Under the theme of “community,” Movia has once again partnered with the Art Matter Festival this year to bring art into public transportation. This art project gives five selected non-professional talents the opportunity to have a work exhibited on Line 2A, which transports more than 20,000 passengers daily throughout the capital.

The project was launched as an open call, announced via social media and on Art Matter’s platform opencall.nu, where anyone with an artistic spirit could submit their work. The five winners were selected from more than 450 submissions, chosen unanimously by a jury consisting of representatives from Movia and Art Matter.

Art on the Move also takes the form of a special pop-up exhibition that is part of the Art Matter Festival’s public program. The jury has selected 20 works from the submitted entries, which are exhibited in their original formats, giving the public the opportunity to explore several of the artistic voices that participated in the competition.
