Vinterjazz: Nova Concerts: Tania Naranjo - OJOSAURO
The year begins in the Nova way: with a concert that feels like stepping into an artwork, curated for deep listening and musical exploration.
On Friday, 30 January 2026, the Nova Concert Series kicks off its season with a live performance by Swedish–Chilean pianist, singer, and composer Tania Naranjo. This is a concert for curious musical and artistic minds—for listeners who enjoy music that refuses to be confined to a single genre.
OJOSAURO starts as a creative spark within Frida Kahlo’s Illustrated Diary, where she sketches a fantastical creature called Ojosauro. Nova then brings this creature to the stage as a metaphor for what art does best: transforming inner realities into sound and private intensity into a shared musical experience.
Tania Naranjo’s music blends classical elegance with Latin American soul, flowing between jazz, tango, bossa nova, and modern sounds.
On stage, Naranjo’s voice, piano, and keyboards lead with intimacy and edge, surrounded by Jens Andersson’s layered keyboards and propelled forward by the rhythmic power of Bader Debs (darbuka and drums), Johnny Åman (electric bass), and Liliana Zavala (Latin percussion). Together they create a concert rich in pulse, colour, and cinematic texture—more like entering a moving painting than attending a conventional concert.
