Vinterjazz: Oscar Ployart Trio + Lachy Hamilton

With clear roots in the jazz tradition of the 1950s and 1960s, the trio plays lively, energetic, and engaging music that allows both imagination and a touch of romance to unfold. The repertoire revolves around some of the most beautiful melodies jazz has created—interpreted with energy, charm, and a goal of spreading optimism.

The trio is joined by renowned saxophonist and composer Lachy Hamilton, originally from Scotland Island in Sydney and now based in Amsterdam. Hamilton has made his mark as a strong voice in the new wave of Australian improvisers and has recorded and performed with Tkay Maidza, Lime Cordiale, and Mat Jodrell, among others. With his distinctive sound and mature musicality, praised by jazz legend Jeff Clayton as “an exemplary musician with attributes and musical wisdom beyond his years,” he adds both depth and radiant energy to the concert.
