Danish JAZZ Max’ism & Hugo’ristic Music
Some may know that revue actor Jørgen Ryg was also a fantastic jazz trumpeter. At this concert, featuring the very best of young and award-winning jazz musicians, you will hear pieces by Jørgen Ryg, Bent Axen, Max Brül, and Allan Botschinsky. It is music from the golden age of bebop in Denmark, as it was heard in the 1950s and 60s at Copenhagen’s venues.
On stage, you’ll meet a stellar lineup of young, award-winning jazz musicians: Jesper Løvdal (saxophone), Jonas Due (trumpet), Zier Rommer (piano), Rune Fogh (bass), and Frands Rifbjerg (drums). Together, they recreate the vibrant atmosphere of Copenhagen’s venues where bebop once flourished.
Look forward to a concert where the melodies of the past meet the energy of the present, and where Danish jazz history is brought to life anew.
