Girls In Airports x Teitur | CPH Jazz Festival

As part of the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Girls in Airports and Faroese singer-songwriter Teitur invite you to two exclusive concerts at Xenon in Huset in Magstræde.

Please note that there are two concerts: one at 5:00 PM and one at 8:00 PM. Make sure that you have purchased a ticket for the desired concert.

When Faroese folk songs meet modern jazz, a musical language emerges that feels both ancient and new. This is the starting point for the collaboration between the Danish indie jazz band Girls in Airports and the Faroese songwriter Teitur.

The collaboration began in 2022 and was first presented at a sold-out VEGA. Since then, the project has unfolded on stages across Denmark—from Tønder and Aarhus to DR Concert Hall in Copenhagen—and most recently in the Faroe Islands, where the music returned to its roots in a series of moving concerts that truly connected tradition and renewal.

The result of the collaboration is an organic sonic universe where North Atlantic poetry meets modern jazz, indie, and electronic textures. As GAFFA wrote in its five-star review: “A poetic highlight, where Teitur’s calm and Girls in Airports’ vibrant soundscapes merge into something timeless.”

360-degree koncert

In Xenon’s theater hall, the concerts are staged in a 360-degree setup, with the audience seated close around the musicians. Here, the collaboration has the opportunity to unfold in an intimate and spatial format, where the details of the interplay come clearly to the fore, and where the work can be experienced up close.
