Paradise Jazz: Artur Tuznik Trio

Expect adventurous original music with roots back in the 60s and Krzysztof Komeda's style, where the mix of Polish folk music and Scandinavian jazz has created a completely unique sound and genre.

Artur Tuznik is a pianist and composer based in Denmark since 2008. His distinctive style is inspired by the harmony of impressionism and the folk language of his Polish origins, with roots in the sound of Scandinavian jazz. With releases by his trio and quintet, Artur has been described as "an exceptionally gifted improviser", and as the winner of some of the most important jazz competitions in Europe, he has gained a reputation as one of the most promising pianists of his generation. Tuznik has studied at both the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Royal Danish Academy of Music - in his compositions and ensembles he often works across classical and rhythmic music.

Artur has been nominated for the Danish Music Awards Jazz in the category Jazz Composer of the Year for his latest album "Spring" with the Artur Tuznik Sextet.

In Denmark, Artur has been active as a bandleader, sideman and composer and has worked with Tomasz Stanko, DR BigBand, Thomas Agergaard, Thomas Blachman, Lennart Ginman, Alex Riel, Nils Davidsen, Mads Vinding, Janne Mark, Claus Waidtløw, Nicolai Munch-Hansen and many more. Over the past few years, Tuznik has been part of several productions at DR Koncerthuset, including "P8 Jazz-Alive" and "DR Fredagsscenen" where he played and presented his music live on DR2 and radio P8 with his trio.

"Tuznik has a zone of alluring calm and adventurous immersion in his playing"
This was the 5-star review of the Artur Tuznik Trio's first album in POLITIKEN back in 2017. Later, the album was included in the newspaper's TOP 5 jazz albums of 2017.

All the trio's musicians have played with Tomasz Stanko at different times and his music can be clearly heard in the trio's sound.

Line Up: Artur Tuznik p, Thommy Andersson b, Stefan Pasborg dm
