Paradise Jazz: Carsten Dahl Trio
Paradise Jazz presents a concert with the Carsten Dahl Trio – one of the most vibrant and well-coordinated ensembles on the Scandinavian jazz scene.
The trio consists of pianist Carsten Dahl, bassist Daniel Franck and drummer Martin Andersen. Together they create an open and spontaneous musical space, where improvisation is the driving force.
The music moves between the poetic, the swinging and the wildly expressive, and each number develops like a small painting, where the musicians react to each other in the moment.
The concert is characterized by a close collective interaction, where the three musicians constantly seek balance and let the music take the direction. There is room for both thoughtfulness, energy and unpredictable moments, where new compositions arise spontaneously in front of the audience.
The audience can experience the trio's own compositions side by side with well-known jazz standards, which are interpreted with both respect for tradition and a desire for innovation. All of this is tied together by the trio's virtuoso interaction and their ability to create live music in dialogue with the audience.
Over the years, Carsten Dahl Trio has played critically acclaimed concerts in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Liechtenstein, Portugal and Spain, among others, and in 2026 the trio is on an extensive European tour.
Funfact: The Steinway grand piano in Paradise Jazz was Carsten Dahl's.
