The Lost Boys

A 1987 cult classic where vampire mythology, teenage rebellion, and 80s style collide in Santa Carla.

Set in the fictional Californian town of Santa Carla, The Lost Boys follows two teenage brothers who move in with their divorced mother, only to discover that the city harbors a dark secret. Beneath the surface of beach life and boardwalk entertainment lies a thriving community of vampires.

Directed by Joel Schumacher, the film stars Jason Patric and Corey Haim as the brothers, with Kiefer Sutherland delivering an iconic performance as the charismatic leader of the vampire gang. The title references the Lost Boys from J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan, echoing the film’s central themes of eternal youth, freedom, and the cost of never growing up.

This screening is presented as a total event, expanding the film experience with an introduction by film and music journalist Martin Gronemann from Soundvenue, along with an atmosphere inspired by 1980s culture and classic vampire lore. Audiences are invited to engage with the spirit of the film, and the evening includes a themed competition and specially curated refreshments.

Released in 1987, The Lost Boys has since earned its place as a cult classic, celebrated for its style, soundtrack, and enduring influence on vampire cinema.
