Final Descent Into Vinterjazz: Tanz Mein Herz (FR)

Emerging in the mid-2000s as a creative free space for members of Toad and France, the group quickly grew into a fluid ensemble without fixed borders or prescribed roles. What began as a handful of musicians searching for new modes of shared listening evolved into a workshop for long-form sound, a place where tempo, pulse and harmonic drift became tools for exploring collective movement, resonance and the hypnotic pull of infinite rhythmic patterns.

As the lineup expanded, Tanz Mein Herz gathered central figures from the wider Standard In-Fi constellation - musicians united by a deep interest in acoustics, trance-inducing repetition and the subtle tensions between composition and improvisation. Together they craft extended sonic architectures built from earthy textures, circular guitar figures, bowed strings, hand percussion and slowly shifting drones. Their music is less a sequence of songs and more a living organism, unfolding patiently, thickening and collapsing, then reassembling itself in new shapes.
