DIVE-IN 48 FILM FESTIVAL DAY TWO: CÉLINE SCIAMMA & ADÈLE HAENEL

Experience three landmark films by Céline Sciamma featuring Adèle Haenel. A special screening exploring youth, identity, and the conditions of love.

Dive-In 48 Film Festival presents a special focus on director Céline Sciamma and actor Adèle Haenel. Their collaboration has made a significant impact on contemporary European cinema, with compelling stories about gender, identity, and relationships.

The program features three films that together trace their artistic partnership. Water Lilies (2007) follows three teenage girls as their relationships evolve through the discovery of desire and attraction. The short film Pauline (2009) portrays a young woman leaving her hometown to live her sexuality openly. Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019) tells an intense love story between a painter and her subject in 18th-century France.

Across the three films, Sciamma and Haenel explore the female gaze and examine how love, longing, and freedom are shaped by social structures. The screening offers a rare opportunity to experience key works that have resonated with audiences and sparked important cultural conversations.
