Hess+Hess+Franck 

The brothers Nikolaj & Mikkel Hess, known for their formidable band Spacelab. This time, they are guests at Paradise Jazz together with the fantastic bassist Daniel Franck. It promises to be a concert full of intensity, musical humor, and energy.

Nikolaj Hess
Danish jazz pianist, composer, and arranger with a precision and soundscape that spans from Nordic jazz to post-bop and global music. Nikolaj has performed with artists such as Caroline Henderson, Christian McBride, Fela Kuti, Lee Konitz, and Benny Golson—both in close collaboration and on stage. As a composer, he has contributed to Lars von Trier's Melancholia and a long list of TV, film, and theater projects. He leads a number of ensembles such as Spacelab and Hess Is More, releases critically acclaimed albums

Mikkel Hess
Danish musician, composer, and producer known for his progressive band project Hess Is More. In addition, he participates in groups such as Hess/AC/Hess Spacelab, 3 x Hess, and several experimental constellations. He is also active as a composer and producer in film, theater, and dance—for example, the ballet UROPA at the Royal Danish Theater (2016), the film When Animals Dream (screened at Cannes, 2014), and Suicide Tourist (Sitges Film Festival, 2019). He has also written music for Swedish television in 2024 and is a central figure in the studio and label environment “This Is Care Of.”

Daniel Franck
Born in Sweden and living in Copenhagen since 1997, Daniel is a prominent double bass player on the Danish jazz scene. He has played with both Danish and international names — including Caroline Henderson, Joey Calderazzo, Kenny Werner, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Benny Golson, and Stacey Kent — and toured with Jens Winther's European quartet.
