FASTER, PUSSYCAT, KILL! KILL!
BARBARELLA
The year is 40.000…
Peacefully floating around in zero-gravity Barbarella (Jane Fonda) is suddenly interrupted by a call from the President of Earth.
A young scientist, Duran-Duran, is threatening the ancient universal peace and Barbarella is the chosen one to find him and save the world.
During her mission, Barbarella never finds herself in a situation where it isn't possible to lose at least part of her already minimal dressing.
A great campy space adventure from the 60s - sexy and far-out, a mutant prodigy of the sexual revolution.
HORROR MONDAYS: The Howling
The Howling takes the werewolf genre by the scruff of the neck and gives it a hard shake, creating something that feels both schlocky and subversive in equal measure.
Directed by Joe Dante, fresh from his collaboration with Roger Corman, the film is a blend of 80s sleaze and wry genre deconstruction, delivering fur, fangs, and some wonderfully gooey practical effects that were groundbreaking for their time.
Beware of a full moon!
18.30 = CINEMA CAFÉ OPENS
19.30 = “THE HOWLING” directed by Joe Dante, 1981, 91 minutes
Kelly's heroes
Clint Eastwood’s Kelly leads a rogue crew of American GI’s who are on a journey to steal 14,000 gold bars located in Nazi occupied France.
The picture is helped along by great chemistry between the leads including a fast talking sergeant played by Tom Salavas and Donald Sutherland wielding laidback hippie attitude.
Of all the World War II cult movies, perhaps this one is the most rewatched and beloved by its fans, and its cheerfully cynical look at the war was a good fit for the early 70s.
Asian Film Series: The Flying Guillotine - 50 år Jubilæum
The Emperor’s armies have developed a new weapon : a thrown blade that can remove someone’s head from long distance.
As the paranoid Emperor begins decapitating anyone he fears might be a threat, his guard Mau Tang becomes disillusioned with the excesses of his master. He leaves his post and takes up the quiet life of farming and raising a family.
Eventually, though, his past catches up with him, and he must find a way to fight the flying guillotine… but who can triumph against this living nightmare of a weapon?

Velvy // Really Loud POP!
In a mix of innocent naivety and distorted acid trip the little child is placed in a world even the adults can’t understand. Throughout the last two years the new Danish duo Velvy consisting of Laura Teglbjærg (vocal/lyrics) and Asbjørn Busk Horne (production/ lyrics) has built up their own world sharing characteristics with electronica, rock and improvised music with a fundament in modern pop aesthetics.
Velvy released their debut-EP “The Room We Lived In” in November 2024.
Final Descent: Ryosuke Kiyasu (JP) + Sól Ey (IS) | Xenon
Since 2003, Ryosuke Kiyasu has shocked and captivated the experimental music scene with his physical performances, best described as freely improvised solo grindcore on the snare drum. Icelandic Sól Ey sets the mood with her body instrument performance Hreyfð.
Jeffrey Lewis & the Voltage (US) | Xenon
Jeffrey Lewis specialises in a unique and, quite frankly, brilliant form of indie rock that also picks the best elements from folk music. It’s no coincidence that his upcoming album is titled “The EVEN MORE Freewheelin’ Jeffrey Lewis” (Bob Dylan fans get the reference!).
